In 2019 Lampson partnered with Bechtel to plan and execute the heavy haul of a pair of vessels set to be delivered to the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, or Vit Plant. The 40 foot tall vessels weighed 160 tons and required a barge, massive cranes and a heavy haul vehicle to transport. The two vessels were transported by barge up the Columbia River, offloaded by Lampson International at the Port of Benton in Richland, and then delivered on a specialized trailer to the Vit Plant at Hanford. The Bechtel logistics team worked closely with Lampson, which managed the loading, unloading and land hauling. Lampson contracted to Foss Maritime for the river transport, bridge clearance and river level coordination. We truly value our local and international partnerships and continue to look forward to our next project with Bechtel.
