In Spring and Summer 2023, Advanced American Construction (AAC) assembled and installed a 208’ long deck plate girder bridge for BNSF Railway near Stevenson, WA. Lampson International provided expert heavy lift support for the critical bridge changeout, utilizing two Manitowoc 4100 Ringer Cranes.

- Girder Specs: 208’ long, 12’ tall, ~310,000 lbs each
- Existing Bridge: 150’ long, ~420,000 lbs
- Rigging & Operations: Two-crane pick with full 360° swing
- Stability Support: Cranes erected on Lampson steel “mud boats” for small pad footprint (50’x55’)
- Permit Constraints: Tight site conditions due to limited fill in Rock Creek
Scope of Work
- Assembly and lifting of four bridge girder sections
- Removal of the existing 100+ year old railroad bridge
- Demo of pre-cut concrete pier sections (~150,000 lbs each)
- Precision placement and slide of the new bridge to allow crane counterweight clearance
- Coordination under a 31-hour BNSF rail shutdown
- Full adherence to safety and permit requirements
